AMDG Company Retreat
On March 2nd, AMDG Architects held its annual company retreat.
We kicked off the day with a round of personal sharing, with each team member being given the floor to share accomplishments from the past year and goals for 2018. Hearing reflections from each other’s professional and personal lives deepens our relationships and helps us to work together as a team and to honor each other’s lives outside of the office.
Constant improvement is deeply embedded in our company’s DNA, and so a portion of our retreat was devoted to sharing ways in which our team is improving AMDG and to gather input for continued development. We also critically assessed AMDG’s Building Blocks, discussing our company values and what it is that we deliver in our projects. We are always asking ourselves: What makes us special? What can we do to get better? And our retreat was a great time to emphasize these questions.
We were sure to make time for fun, with teams traversing downtown Grand Rapids for a very competitive photo scavenger hunt. One of our Senior Associates hosted a remixed version of the dating game to help us get to know more about our newest team members.
The retreat was a chance for our team to pause and reflect on the great work that we have been a part of this past year. We are so grateful to our clients and consultants for the opportunities and for their collaboration, as we look to build on the successes of the past year as we move into 2018.
