Set upon a bluff on Lake
Michigan, this cottage overlooks 250’ of beach frontage to the west, and an
expansive, spreading lawn to the east. The clients desired a comfortable
retreat to be organized around open, airy and bright living spaces, and to
include multiple bedroom suites for hosting adult children and their
families. The design is rendered with classic elements of shingle style
architecture, including subtly sculpted gables and roof, eyebrow dormers,
and refined exterior trims. The interior spaces, with soaring ceilings and
generous expanses of glass, offer spectacular views. Exterior balconies at
each bedroom, a gracious patio, and a series of cascading decks at the bluff
provide unique settings to maximize enjoyment of Michigan summers on the
lake. |
