  summary

Ridgeview Industries is a world-class manufacturer of metal stampings and assemblies that had exhausted the expansion possibilities of its existing site. They took the opportunity to create a new office headquarters and manufacturing facility free of the encumbrances of the older existing facility. To accomplish this, A.M.D.G. Architects, in close collaboration with the owner and general contractor, DVK Construction, designed a new, state-of-the-art 145,000 square foot manufacturing plant with 52,000 square feet of new office space. The manufacturing environment incorporates much natural light and was designed to maximize flexibility to include presses, welding and assembly equipment, as well as shipping and receiving. The large red wall identifies the entry, directs one to the core of the building and, through the use of metal, celebrates Ridgeview's primary business. The new facility was master planned for future expansion of an additional 255,000 square feet of manufacturing and an additional 50,000 square feet of office.
In designing a new facility, Ridgeview seized the opportunity to craft a work environment that reinforced their corporate culture. It was important to Ridgeview Industries that the design would be instrumental in breaking down barriers between office and manufacturing staff, emphasizing collaboration and teamwork between all personnel. Thus, the two-story “Town Square” serves as a central gathering place with amenities for both plant and office employees. This includes an event room where manufacturing and engineering teams work together toward constant improvement and quality control. Also in the Town Square is a shared cafeteria with coffee makers and casual seating, a company store, a library for education and entertainment, and product displays. The gym, locker area and exercise room, along with an outdoor volleyball and picnic area provide opportunities for recreation and further employee interaction.
