This building, as part of the Honda Dealership Image Program, offers a visible presence for Duthler Honda at a major intersection in Grand Rapids, at 29th Street and Broadmoor Avenue. The design is a modification of a Honda prototype dealership as set forth in the Design Intent Documents (D.I.D.) prepared by Design Forum of Dayton, Ohio. A.M.D.G. Architects and DVK Construction worked with Duthler Honda in modifying the prototype to suit dealer needs, site constraints, and budget parameters. A.M.D.G. Architects and DVK Construction also worked to obtain approvals from both corporate Honda and the local municipality. The design-build relationship between A.M.D.G. Architects and DVK Construction accommodated a rigorous schedule set by the clientís need to complete construction before the new model year release.
